The website and portal are provided to share programme information, support applicant registration, receive application submissions, manage application communications, and support programme administration.
The portal is not a guarantee of eligibility, shortlisting, selection, interview invitation, fellowship award, admission, visa approval, travel, placement, or final award confirmation.
2. Applicant accounts
Applicants may be required to create or access an account to complete an application.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. You must not allow another person to access or submit an application through your account.
If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact the IrelandFellows Applications Team as soon as possible.
3. Application information
You are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted through the portal is true, complete, accurate, and submitted before the relevant deadline.
False, incomplete, misleading, duplicated, unverifiable, or late information may affect your application.
The programme team may request corrections, clarification, or additional information where required.
4. Supporting documents
Where supporting documents are submitted by link, applicants are responsible for ensuring that:
- the correct files are included;
- the links work;
- the files can be opened and viewed by the programme team;
- the links do not require additional permission approval;
- the links do not require a private invitation, restricted account, or organisational access;
- the files remain accessible during the review process.
Google Drive is recommended for document links. Applicants may also use OneDrive or another document hosting provider of their choice.
Submitted document links must be accessible to the programme team. This may require setting the file or folder to be accessible to anyone with the link.
Making a document accessible to anyone with the link does not mean it is published on this website. However, anyone who has the exact link may be able to view the file, depending on the sharing settings selected by the applicant.
If a document link is inaccessible, empty, incorrect, expired, restricted, or requires additional access approval, the application may be delayed or the applicant may be asked to correct or resubmit the link.
5. Deadlines and submissions
Applications, corrections, and supporting materials must be submitted before the relevant deadline.
The portal may lock editing after submission or after a deadline has passed.
Submitting an application through the portal does not mean that the application has been formally reviewed, shortlisted, accepted, or approved.
Applicants should not wait until the final moments before a deadline to submit an application, correction, or document link.
6. Communications
The programme team may communicate with applicants through the portal, email, or other contact details provided in the application.
Applicants are responsible for checking their email and portal messages regularly.
Automated portal notifications may be sent to confirm submissions, status updates, messages, correction requests, or other application activity. These automated notifications do not replace any formal programme communication where such communication is required.
7. Corrections and document access issues
If a correction is requested, the applicant is responsible for reviewing the request and submitting the correction before the stated deadline.
If a document link cannot be opened, contains no files, or does not provide the required access, the applicant may be asked to update or resubmit the link.
Failure to respond to correction requests or document access issues may affect the review of the application.
8. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the website or portal. This includes attempting to:
- access another applicant’s account or information;
- submit false, harmful, or misleading information;
- interfere with the security or operation of the portal;
- upload or link to malicious, unlawful, or inappropriate content;
- bypass access controls, restrictions, or deadlines;
- use the portal in a way that disrupts the application process.
Access may be restricted or removed if misuse is suspected.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the website and portal available and working properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
Maintenance, technical issues, internet disruptions, third-party service issues, email delivery issues, or security events may affect availability.
Applicants remain responsible for submitting applications and required materials before the relevant deadline.

Where there is a conflict between general website information and official programme guidance issued by the relevant programme authority, the official programme guidance will apply.
12. Application outcome
Application status updates shown in the portal or sent by automated notification are provided for application management purposes.
A status update does not replace any formal programme communication, award documentation, admission process, visa process, or final confirmation where such steps are required.
